The   Central Committee of the CPC and the State Council approved the Ministry of   Commerce and the People's Government of Beijing Municipality to jointly host   China (Beijing) International Fair for Trade in Services (referred to as the   Beijing Fair) in 2012, in   order to enhance the international competitiveness of China's service   industry and trade in services, and give full play to the role of service   industry and trade in services in accelerating the transformation of economic   development mode. CIFTIS   (including the former Beijing Fair) has been successfully held for six   sessions, which has become an important platform for spreading ideas,   connecting supply and demand, sharing business opportunities, and promoting   common development in the field of international trade in services. CIFTIS is   the largest comprehensive exhibition in the field of global trade in services   and the leading exhibition in the field of trade in services in China, which   has become one of the three major exhibition platforms for China's opening-up   together with China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) and China   International Import Expo (CIIE).
